The North Norfolk coast and countryside are areas rich in wildlife, quaint fishing villages, historic towns and bustling coastal resorts. The coast is designated an area of natural beauty.

Malthouse Cottage is situated (map location) in a delightful coastal village called Thornham, which is approximately 4 miles east of Hunstanton, North Norfolk.

Thornham once boasted a small commercial port but this has declined into a pleasant recreational harbour with only small fishing and pleasure boats using it. The harbour is a 15 minute walk from the cottage. From the harbour the designated coastal path runs across the edge of the marshes in one direction and along the flood bank to the beach and Holme Nature Reserve in the other directions; a paradise for ornithologists.

The cottage is constructed of typical Norfolk flint and is at the end of a row of olde world cottages, modernised yet retaining it's country style charm, including oak beamed ceiling in the lounge and latch type doors almost throughout.

The cottage is comfortably furnished with a lovely south facing garden. It is close carpeted throughout and has the benefit of night storage heaters and an open fire in the lounge.

There is a village shop on the main road and 2 Pubs both serving good food and one Licensed Restaurant - selling mainly Pizzas.
